OK, if I were to do 4K projects at some point in the future after acquiring my new computer, as far as the GPU is concerned would I want a 1050, a 1050 Ti, or a 1060? Because I might make my decision soon.

It might be worth waiting a little while longer for the AMD Thread rippers to properly launch.
Even if it is not your processor of choice, it should knock the current price's down for the others.

Yes AMD are really going for it.
The Threadrippers are there first 'Workstation' processers for a while. There perfect for what we do here Smile  
The Ryzens we're aimed primarily at the Desktop and Gaming market.

By the looks of it they would cut through alot of what we do here like a hot knife through butter.
