On Sunday I will go to the biggest market in Vilnius; as I'll be there, I'll keep my eyes open, even if it would be hard to spot such kind of cables, but who knows...

I might have overstated the chance of finding such a cable on a flea market, just to make it clear.

I guess it would be quite easy to find them to some "electronic fairs" as we have in Italy... dunno here, though!
About Presonus Firepod, this is a comprehensive review: http://web.archive.org/web/2012052207524...review.htm
will not write anymore about this, at least not until I can get one (if) and when I could test it.
Meanwhile, I was thinking about starting a new thread to find out the best hardware decoder for Dolby Surround, but I am too lazy, you know...

2x https://www.muzikosfaktorius.lt/pd-conne...stereo-15m
so 6x7€ = 42€
please check if they are the right ones!
Checked by myself, I was wrong!
the XLR female - TRS male are right, while the others are wront... I need XLR male - RCA male!
So:
4x https://www.magnetola.lt/laidai-su-xlr-m...o-15m.html
1x https://www.magnetola.lt/laidai-su-xlr-m...black.html
for a "mere" 39€, a whopping 3€ less than before!

I think you had it right before. Why do you want RCA? Audio interfaces usually have TRS jacks, doesnt that one you picked as well?

Don't I need to feed the SDU4 with laserdisc (or any other kind) player?!?
Do you know some laserdisc players with TRS jacks?
Or I guess I should find a cheap Theta Data 3 with optional audio card with XLR outputs!
So:
player - rca - XLR - SDU4
SDU4 - XLR - TRS - sound card

Oh I see. So you don't intend to record the raw laserdisc audio at all? The way I would do it (if the interface supports it): Audio from Laserdisc into interface. Internally route to output to TRS to the SDU4. Record what comes back.

Well, in case of digital track (most of the cases), I'll record it via digital cable.
In case of analog track, your route is good, but is there need of that?
And I'm not completely sure that sound card will allow it...

I see, well if you're already recording it another way, sure, then your method works I guess.

You know, I got another idea... as the SDU4 has only analog inputs and, despite its quality it's not (and never will be) high end, and after all only the analog laserdisc output will be used to feet, I thought to this path:
laserdisc player RCA analog out - Presonus Firepod TRS 1-2 in - TRS passthrough - Dolby SDU4 XLR in - XLR out - Presonus Firepod TRS 3-4-5-6 in
laserdisc player optical digital out - RF demodulator digital in - digital out - DAC (minidisc, CDR etc) optical digital in - RCA out - Presonus Firepod TRS 7-8 in
laserdisc player AC3 digital out - RF demodulator AC3 digital in - digital out - Presonus Firepod digital in
In this way, the Presonus Firepod will send to the PC via firewire:
1-2 analog tracks stereo
3-4-5-6 Dolby Pro Logic L-C-R-S (from analog or digital laserdisc tracks)
7-8 digital tracks stereo (analog out)
digital in (from digital, AC3 or DTS tracks)
A bit convoluted, but should work (in theory...)
