Hello:
new to this project that you have put together, came across some of your uploads in the *Bluebird* forum & I dl'ed one of them.
I'm intrigued by this process but if you don't mind me asking....do not both the original Bluray disc video & the web sourced video have to be 1080p high def?
If one of the two is not as sharp & detailed as the other won't that softer video image dull the clarity of the overlaid final product?

I don't fully understand what do you mean.
The aim of hybrid is to enchace low quality source by high quality overlay video as much as possible without visible borders between sources.

Well, when we talk about WEB here, we mean 1080p - and only really rarely 720p; never dealt with WEB SD! So, here the difference in quality between BD and WEB (HDTV) passes most of the time unnoticed, unless you put them in direct comparison, frame by frame, and zooming in.
I can tell you that, even using SDTV (720x576), with the right techniques (denoising, sharpening, high quality upscaling, grain etc.), when combined with the BD, the difference between sources is not that noticeable in motion.

random.next, stiil looking forward to your Casino release. In the mean time here is a couple of ideas for future projects I'd love for you to tackle with your specialist skills:
Silverado (1985) - Open Matte hdtv overlaid with Bluray.
Godzilla (1998) - Open Matte hdtv overlaid with Bluray
Over the Top (1987) - US Bluray which has wider framing on both left and right sides but is slightly filtered overlaid with German Bluray which has better grain retention, encoding, color timing and is less filtered.
Ferris Buellers Day Off (1986) - Open Matte hdtv overlaid with Bluray, I have a personal open matte cap from ITV HD (only problem is it's censored in some scenes and of course missing a few frames at commercial breaks) which could be used to remove logo from available released ones and vice versa.

Very nice, random.next. Another one of yours I'll be adding to my personal collection. Does it include the extended scenes, if not, any chance of a hybrid with 2.35:1 inserts for those scenes.
