Would love to see this applied to Fellowship of the Ring. The EE and Theatrical have different framing and at very least an extra wide 2.45/2.5 AR could be reached for some scenes. Seems like a good project to test the viability of variable aspect ratios across one movie.

I believe Fellowship is the only one that got a new transfer. The process would be difficult though - the image focus moves, so in some shots you'll have quite a bit on the left, while other shots are extra zoomed.

X files is on my list of projects, as well as the Star Wars Blu-ray’s.
