I think its more of an unnecessary connecting piece in the story vs. a setup for a sequel. I think they trimmed it just because the story doesn't need the illogical loop of Cyberdyne getting the technology from themselves haha. It's still setup perfectly for a sequel with her driving into the sunset knowing she has a son to prepare for war. Looking forward to checking this out btw, will wait for the next render
