If you want the digital tracks bit perfect, I capture straight into a CD recorder with a optical input.
My current method for video capture is off my oldest LD player, which is analog sound only into a DVD recorder at the highest quality setting, but the audio will be captured as PCM.

That could be cool. No hurry though I have a bunch of sync on the plate before this, but I'm sure many fans would be happy to watch the film with the sound they grew up with.

Right, I always heard the Time Warp flashback had a blue tint but am still yet to see it in real life. I've only seen it on home video. We need a restoration project with a few members involved. The opening credits on the BD also have a weird framing issue but if I remember right the HDX version on vudu has it correct and could maybe be capped to use paired with the BD. After that the tints would need fixed and then add all the audio tracks and there ya go! Done. Not the most complicated project around here.

Are there screenshots of the framing issue with the titles somewhere?

That name rings a bell. I wonder if he's been around OT and I haven't noticed?
That seems more a recreation of the "conceptual" version than the theatrical. Still, it could form the basis of a theatrical restoration.

Did fans ever notice that some things were off with the Blu-ray? Because after years of going to see it at midnight you would've memorized every scene, dialogue, sound out there.

I believe they did. I saw a detailed breakdown of the mono versus stereo mixes on a fan website many years ago. And this was before the DVD release. IIRC, the RHPS fanbase lobbied Fox for the mono mix to be included.
