[Proposal] The Abyss (1989) BD
#61
Actually, it works like Aliens: mixing the green of Cinemax with the blue/magenta of the open matte, gives a sky blue as a result; I think that changing the mix (like 40/60, for example) would give more teal.

There is Open Matte without the channel logo and there is a source of "Korean!" But not the Japanese version as it is mistakenly called.

Yep, I have it - as well as the AXN-HD; sadly, quality is not on par with the Cinemax theatrical cut, even if, combined, result is improved!

Japanese: I'm sure the subtitles are Japanese, don't know for the source of broadcast, though - http://originaltrilogy.com/post/id/699172 - but if there is another version, a Korean one, I'm all ear! Big Grin

KK650's version does this quite nicely

Yes, I was wrong, I checked and really the Japanese subtitles, there was another record from the Japanese channel WOWOW on the network I met a couple of screenshots but unfortunately the record itself is not there or I could not find it, the original of this Japanese record was posted on "Baidu" and from there I got In Usenet there and seysas there is a French HDTV of sampling quality in front of all that have been found.

Well, if a WOWOW recording could be retrieved, it would be great - those are recognized as probably the best MPEG-2 versions!

Forgot to say that it was in Open Matte but unfortunately also with unswitched subtitles, I'll still look for "Baidu forum mentions and files on the exchanger.

Well, I remember the JP version - I can't find it anymore - and it was quite good - apart those subtitles; colors reminded me the first squeezed laserdisc of T2.

I still have that one, with the off colors and subs (partly cropped)
