About ten years ago a fan editor (Phineasbg) did make various preservations and fan cuts of Highlander 2 using the best sources available at the time.

Among his fan edits were the Special Zeist Edition, which added the Zeist storyline back into the Special Edition, and the Extended Zeist Edition, which uses most (but not all) available footage in a kitchen sink version. The shield in the Extended version keeps shifting between red and blue depending on where the footage came from, so it's not the most consistent of edits.

So it might be worth seeing of you can track these down.

Once I'm done with this preserving the Theatrical Cuts in as close to full HD as I can get them, I might make my own fanedit. A lot of people has suggested I make one and I do have a few ideas, but I want to make sure the original cuts exist in good quality before adding another to the mix.

This is possibly the cut we had in Hungary as well, when the movie was released here.
I still have a copy from the first VHS dubbed version we had (possibly for this cut), which was far better than the later re-dubs for the other cuts of the movie.

If there's a possibility, could you send me the link for this preservation, I'd like to check out this cut and compare with my VHS version.

Do you have any way of capturing the Hungarian dub from the VHS? I'm slowly working on my "Ultimate" release of the European Cut so it would be nice to be able to include as many languages as I can.

It's going to take quite a long time before my "Ultimate" version is ready, so there is no hurry
