Just wanted to say that @vlac112 has kindly sent me a reconstructed Hungarian soundtrack. I'll be including it with my next release (whenever I manage to finish working on the 35mm...) but in the meantime if anyone wants the soundtrack please get in touch with either me or vlac

You are truly a legend HippieDalek. Highlander II really is the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it?
It would be epic to be able to see the European Theatrical Cut you've done of Highlander II. I only have the Italian version of the cut on DVD, would be cool to see it complete and in English. Would it be possible to PM you for a digital copy of it? Thanks given by: HippieDalek

Really glad to see this finally restored, signed up cos I was looking to see if there was any copy of the original theatrical edition available! So glad that some people think its better to just admit a film's faults (well I dont think they are, honestly...) than try to hide them!

Late to say, but it is weird to finally compare the American, European and Renegade cuts together - its really a shame the 'Renegade' version decided to just cop to the fans whining over the sanctity of the franchise's 'lore' rather than, you know, just seamlessly blend the two cuts together (with whatever new scenes the Renegade cut added - I also really dislike the Special Editions's addition of CGI effects, even if the colour blue fits the indoor sequences better)
I think out of all the three editions, my preferred one has to be the European one, as it flows better as a story compared to the US one, even if it does sadly cut a few scenes out and sorta does a few poor soundtrack choices - honestly the dream would be a cut that combined the American and European cuts (though went with the Europeans version of the story, mostly - the Alan subplot was mostly handled better in the Renegade cut), with the new scenes added in the Renegade cut, but maybe that would be a bit too hard? Yeah, there's a lot of cuts of this film, it's fascinating to compare them. Once I'm done with my HD preservation I might attempt my own cut that blends the best bits from all of them.

It was great fun during another Corona lockdown watching this disasterpiece again - for the first time UNCENSORED in German. With the Concorde DVD 'Remastered' as your main source you discovered what German audiences missed since it's theatrical release until today/forever. In opposite to the original movie we didn't get an UNCUT version on DVD same as with too many other less popular pre-censored movies of the 80/90s. Thank you for the German dub that is perfect in sync and very good mixed with the inserts of the cut scenes. You did a really good job with that! Thank you!

I thought the German dub was a lot of fun. The actor dubbing MacLeod was going overtime on all the extra grunts and sighs, while the actor dubbing Katana was possibly chewing more scenery and having more fun than Michael Ironside!

This forum thread was a great find as I was seeking out information on this cut of the movie. I would be extremely interested in getting a copy of your restoration. I already have a rip of the US theatrical cut, but the European Version is of great interest to me.
