Indio (1989) US LD Audio
#1
So I already have this and Indio 2 The Revolt as high quality LD transfers done via a professional company. The problem is that I forgot to ask them to capture the audio for the first movie as PCM, so they did it as AAC. For the second movie they did it as PCM.

So does anyone have the first movie on LD and can they capture the audio uncompressed?

Alternately does anyone in the UK have the equipment to capture the audio uncompressed? I have the LD I just don't have a player or capture equipment.

Thanks

Wow that's crazy that a professional would only give it to you as AAC. Surely they must have originally captured it as PCM, did you ask them if they still have the raw capture?

I have to be honest, until I started hanging around on this forum, I didn't fully realise the benefits of PCM so I didn't even consider how they did the audio. It was only recently I checked and discovered it was AAC.

I had the lasers and some VHS tapes transferred in batches. The second movie was done recently and I then knew to ask them for PCM but the first was done over a year ago so I guess if they did it originally to PCM they will have deleted it by now. It was my fault really I should have asked. I guess they thought they were doing a favour by reducing the file size, or maybe they are so used to people not caring what format the audio is.

The video has come out really well, worse case scenario I'll have to send the laser back to them and get it done again but if would be ideal if someone has it already.

Oh I see, then it's different yeah. Still, I don't understand this attitude/assumption by some professionals to think the customer for some reason wouldn't want the best possible quality. In the very least they should ask imo.

Yes I agree, especially asking.

The ultimate plan for this is to do a Blu Ray with both movies, PCM english audio and Italian AC3, plus optional English subtitles. They'll also be some trailers and a gallery of posters/VHS covers etc. Just currently in the process of transcribing the English subtitles for the second movie but it's slow work.

Cheers
