The Wizard of Oz (1939) MGM DVD Mono

As far as I can tell Criterion used a 50's preserved IB Tech print, MGM did new work for the Ultimate LD box and both should have the best available mono. The MGM DVD seems to be last appearance of the Ultimate box LD mono and the last mono track to not be overly noise filtered and such.

Did any other release besides the 1989 50th Anniversary LD have the isolated music and effects track? It was unusual to have that on the digital track, and if you didn't select the mono track by itself you got a wild pseudo-stereo effect at times. At least I did on my HT setup.

I synced up UHD disc with the mono track from the R1 America - Warner Home Video 2 Disc Special Edition. Is that audio any different than the MGM disc?

All later DVDs do not have the original mono. They're all altered or folddowns iirc. I do not have that info in front of me at the moment.
The only one that's correct is the 1997 disc I made this thread for.
