#11
IIRC the Dutch BD that you are after only features DTS-HR audio. So its lossy

Yep, I know. But it’s evidently still better. Not the first time I’ve seen it happen if true.

Good news: I do know that I have the Netherland BluRay.
Bad news: I do not know where it is stored in my collection.

Well, if you do happen to locate it, I'd love to have that audio track for comparison.  Smile

So what's the story with the various releases? As far as I can tell the Dutch BD is a straight IP scan with dirt/damage etc whereas the US BD is restored and a modern 'DI' grading applied. The version I watched on Netflix had a lot of blue and/or orange (very orange) scenes, I'm guessing this was based on the US master.

^ Yeah, that fits with my understanding of the situation. The US BD can look pretty orange. The first DE BD was better overall, and the latest one's much better.

EDIT: Oh, and JP two-disc set didn't look better than previous releases, despite having a higher bitrate. It does have lossless audio though.

I’m actually (hopefully) waiting for a friend of mine for help, so I can at least get started on this; as I get access to that and the various audio tracks, I’ll get on this.  Should have it done in a couple of weeks once I can get going.

Good news: It took me only about 15 minutes to find the dutch BD in my collection. Smile So, you will be able to compare it to other sources.
