Those old DVDs are the way the original masters were before the Blu blunder, so I guess they represent how they looked in the theaters.
I have Chinese bootleg DVDs of the Limited Edition (Theatrical + Extended) that have no bonuses, but they have DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete audio for the Extended Editions.
Until good fan restorations appear for the Extended Editions, I will be sticking to my Chinese Limited Edition bootleg DVDs.
Thank God for being born Chinese in the Philippines, where bootlegs run rampant to this day.
The DVD was a gift from my uncle for my 10th birthday in 2010.
What’s funny with the DVD is that the title at the front is Japanese, but the spine is in Chinese, and the discs don’t have Japanese dubs or subs, but there are Chinese subs.
