I've got the NTSC DVD but if I remember correctly, most mono of this one out there are sub par including the LDs. I need to resync all tracks to the UHD anyway.

That's cool. I always watched this with mono and just can't get along with the stereo/surround tracks at all. Even subpar mono would be an improvement for me.

I'm not fuly understanding the first post and I have the following releases on Blu-ray disc along with 4K UHD. Which of these are 'safe' meaning they contain the original mixes and which are the remix only releases? I know for a fact the Dirty Harry 5-film BD collection I own only have the remixes. I won't list The Man with No Name Trilogy since I have multiple releases of all three.
Could someone copy my list and use strikethrough on the titles I own which are remix track only, please? Coogan's Bluff (1968) - Kino Lorber BD Hang 'Em High (1968) - MGM BD+DVD (Getting the Shout Factory BD release since the 2.0 is lossless.) Where Eagles Dare (1968) - WB BD Paint Your Wagon (1969) - Kino Lorber 4K+BD Kelly's Heroes (1970) - WB BD Two Mules for Sister Sara (1970) - Kino Lorber BD The Beguiled (1971) - Kino Lorber BD Play Misty for Me (1971) - Kino Lorber BD Joe Kidd (1972) - Kino Lorber BD High Plains Drifter (1973) - Kino Lorber 4K+BD Thunderbolt & Lightfoot (1974) - Kino Lorber 4K+BD The Eiger Sanction (1975) - Kino Lorber BD The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) - WB BD The Gauntlet (1977) - WB BD Every Which Way But Loose (1978) - WB BD Escape from Alcatraz (1979) - Kino Lorber 4K+BD Any Which Way You Can (1980) - WB BD Firefox (1982) - WB BD Pale Rider (1985) - WB BD Heartbreak Ridge (1986) - WB BD The Rookie (1990) - WB BD Unforgiven (1992) - WB 4K+BD Absolute Power (1997) - WB BD Thanks for this thread!

Hope this is of some help...
Where Eagles Dare (1968) - WB BD - 5.1 mix may be 70mm 6-track. Kelly's Heroes (1970) - WB BD - 5.1 mix may be 70mm 6-track. High Plains Drifter (1973) - Kino Lorber 4K+BD - 2.0 mix is a downmix from 5.1 remix. Avoid. The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) - WB BD - 5.1 remix only. Avoid. The Gauntlet (1977) - WB BD - 5.1 remix only. Avoid Every Which Way But Loose (1978) - WB BD - 5.1 remix only. Avoid. Any Which Way You Can (1980) - WB BD - 5.1 remix only. Avoid. Firefox (1982) - WB BD - 5.1 mix may be 70mm 6-track. Pale Rider (1985) - WB BD - 5.1 mix may be 70mm 6-track. Heartbreak Ridge (1986) - WB BD - 5.1 remix only. Avoid. The Rookie (1990) - WB BD - 5.1 mix may be 70mm 6-track. Absolute Power (1997) - WB BD - Original 5.1 mix. Thumbs up. I'm sure someone will correct any mistakes I've made and fill in the blanks. I believe the recent Kino UHDs are genuine mono but that's unconfirmed. Thanks given by: AdmiralNoodles

I'm awaited for them! I like the Josey Wales remix, though the sounds are obviously from the 90's and not the 70's.
Now the weird thing is... 90's is more vintage now, 30 years later, than 70's were in 1995, 20 years later. Think about it.

No idea how to do that but to me it'd be a fun project. Of course, have been wanting to add the mono/stereo to the Dirty Harry movies for quite a long time since I own the UK BD (imported to USA ages ago) boxset. Could even look for mkv BD remux of these titles which might have the LD mono/stereo included. I haven't even checked but I ought to! Is the Kino Lorber UHD for High Plains Drifter still a downmix the same as the included BD or is it the original mix? I checked this thread on blu-ray.com forum and there isn't an entry in 1973 for it. There's still some of the Kino Lorber BDs I'm going to eventually get the UHD of. Hopefully those will be in the next Kino Lorber sale. These are obviously fine since it has the original English 2.0 mono. Not going to list of all disc releases I own for The Man with No Name Trilogy but I'm very tempted to! A Fistful of Dollars - Kino Lorber UHD+BD For a Few Dollars More - Kino Lorber UHD+BD The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly - Kino Lorber UHD+BD

I'm no expert, but you can easily add ripped audio tracks to MKV files using free software MKVToolNix GUI. If the audio files need resyncing and/or re-editing you can use Audacity but that's more complex. Best to find pre-synced files if you can. The Dirty Harry mono files are out there. But I don't have them any more. I'll PM you about High Plains Drifter. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly has original mono. But A Fistful of Dollars is reportedly a downmix. Not sure about For a Few Dollars More. Thanks given by: AdmiralNoodles

I'm still looking for the Dirty Harry series mono/stereo mixes, audio only files and not attached to any custom made disc. Since I have the BDs and can make mkv's out of them, I figure why not just add the original mixes from the LDs into a newer mkv? I don't need a custom made disc since I already own the retail, which is my opinion regarding the Dirty Harry movies. Unless WB releases all five movies on UHD with original cinema audio in lossless.
