Or they could just transfer the image straight off the negative without shrinking it to size... yeah, they could still make VHS tapes for widescreen TVs that have settings for stretching the image - you'd think that setting would have to have SOME use!

This was a cool concept. Can you imagine if GL had done this from the beginning?
