Twister (1996) - Sync Info of Original 5.1 Mixes for new Atmos/Auro3d BD

That's why it was not listed on Sony's website as SDDS-8 - even if it had a 8ch mix, it was "upmixed"!

Maybe the same happened for (few) other titles that someone stated as SDDS-8 but did not appear as such on the website...

Did Warner have DTSMA track -> Bluray.com lists it as TrueHD?
Anyways this track is better (to my ears) than the Atmos track. It also sounds wider. Could this be actually the original 5.1? Anyone have Cinema DTS of Twister to compare?

The UK BD had a DTS-MA track, it's possible they just mislabeled it.

No, it was sourced from the US Blu-ray, but edited and then encoded as DTS-HD MA. Here are the notes:

Used USA Blu-ray for the original mix, as EUR had neutered bass, and other sources (DVD, LD) were lossy.
Seamlessly spliced in six seconds from EUR, as there was a noticable sync issue (slight looping) in the source. Interestingly, that section (~27 sec) was a lossy transcode in the EUR, but LD and DVD with better spectrals had their own more subtle sync issues in this scene. EUR seems to be correct, also matches the Atmos mix.

I've got the CDTS. Might be interesting to see the sync of that section.

Have not seen that, but what I mean is specifically that one 30 second scene that's mentioned in the notes. The sync there differed between other sources (even when perfectly aligned elsewhere). I don't have the timestamp but should be easy to spot on the spectrogram of the UK Blu-ray track.
