What's the deal with Predator 2?

Predator 2, also Predator 1, where originally intended in scope (hard matte). But later dropped in favor of flat ratio. You can see this with both movies in their trailers, since they do exist in scope. I did watch Predator 1 in scope, using cropping, and it works. But in flat it works even better. It's like Jurassic Park, where Spielberg choose FLAT over scope, as it made more sense. The Jurassic World movies in scope feel too tide.

May have been shot for scope or 2.1:1 ish. Framing

Wasn't there a custom project that cropped the blu of Predator 2 down to 2.2:1 based on the LD transfer being roughly 2:1? Can't remember

It seems like every label (even the once mighty Arrow) has a real problem with QC these days, but Shout really do take it to another level

Yep, when Arrow sold out to The Hut group they went to Shout and Criterion levels of poor
