Media player recommendations?

We recently added a new feature to Kodi some of you might like:

Video Versions.

Code:
Video Version is a new Kodi feature introduced in v21. It allows users to keep multiple versions of the same video title in the library.

Do you have the DVD, Bluray, 3D and 4K version of a title? Do you have the Theatrical Release, Director's Cut, Extended version or any other type of version for the same title? Do you dislike the same title being repeatedly listed in the library?

All these different formats and versions can be attached to a parent title in the library. Think of it as Movie Sets for the same movie.

This feature works on the movie library and may be expanded to TV shows and episodes in a later release of Kodi.

Previously 44.1khz tracks were always resampled to 48hkz and I was under the impression this was an Android limitation and the only way round it involved a USB DAC. Anyway very recently something caused all my audio settings to get reset within Kodi and after changing them back, I'm getting 44.1khz to my AVR. Happy days!
Sometime last year there was a firmware update that allowed it.

I didn't realize this wasn't natively supported by Kodi, it always just worked when using Jellyfin. Good to see!

That’s great. I needed that feature badly.

I read this thread as I am considering a Shield Pro this year. Any current feedback from owners?
My only concern besides nvidia nerfing features is they will release a new version right after I get one.

Mine is still my main media device for Kodi, Netflix, Prime, Disney+, etc. No complaints and I'd replace it in a heartbeat if it ever packed up.

My biggest problem with it is nvidia patching in ads. The homescreen used to be very minimal and now it's bombarded with ads. But otherwise it's been working very well as a kodi device. The DV patch still isn't pushed to the play store version, but if you really want it then you can just use a custom build.

If Kodi finds a different version of a movie during a library update it will ask if you want to add it as a version of the existing movie or not.

It also handles extras now as well.

I use Projectivity Launcher, which is free on the store, so have complete control of my homescreen.

I love mine, use it as my main device and watch most days. DV and passthrough works great. My only issue with it is I struggle getting Netflix to play, it'll often play with out of sync audio or subtitles will be off etc, or it just plain crashes. Sometimes rebooting works, sometimes I need to clear cache or uninstall and reinstall etc. I usually get it working but it's just annoying.
