the 3D and the Open Matte version replaced the Original Paramount Logo with the updated version, but the 4K version has the original logo. Maybe that has something to do with it.

PDB's Open Matte project replaced the updated logo with the old one.

Don't know which track you have but I found some notes. If you have the LD 2.0 track synced to the original US BD then:

Sync to 4K: +4964ms

Sync to 3D BD: +5921ms

Does anyone know if the English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 from the HD-DVD is worth tracking down?

I'm sure PDB Open Matte project had one extra frame at beginning over the 3D blu-ray, something to do with the YAO subtitles. I'm sure he will chime in to confirm.

Can't remember exactly but that sounds right.

Also found the 5.1 from the fullscreen DVD and the 5.1 and 2.0 from the CE DVD. Maybe I'll look at that later vs the LD.

Great news PDB!

I'd really like to read your impressions there. There's always been so much speculation on the LD vs Original DVD 5.1

PDB, we now also have the US THX LD [LV 1692-WS] as well as the original JP LD [SF078-1335] bitperfect captures. I'll send you direct links.

At least one of the 2.0 tracks sent me worked! And it sounds amazing on the 4k, the ac-3 is a little off, but sounds way quieter than the 2.0 flac

Thank you for sending that my way. I have that THX track but didn't have the JPN so that's very cool. So with that I have

1. PCM 2.0 Dolby Surround (from the P&S LD) - New
2. PCM 2.0 Dolby Surround (from the JPN LD) - New
3. PCM 2.0 Dolby Surround (from the widescreen LD)
4. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the widescreen LD)
5. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the 4:3 OM DVD) - New
6. Dolby Digital 2.0 (from the CE DVD) - New
7. DTS 5.1 (from the CE DVD) - New
8. Dolby Digital+/EAC-3 5.1 (from the 16:9 OM Web-DL)
9. DTS-HD MA 6.1 (from the BD)

Not sure about the Atmos from the UHD...

Now thinking out-loud here, rather then re-release the 16:9 OM project I've been thinking about releasing the 4:3 OM DVD. In comparing the 3 versions (2.39, 16:9 OM and 4:3 OM), Top Gun seems to be on of those rare Super 35 transfer where the 16:9 OM is 90% just additional top and bottom info. On top of that the 4:3 OM is 90% more top and bottom info over the 16:9. So since I have what I think is a rock solid upscale:

I'm wondering if I can plug the 16:9 into the middle of the 4:3 to create a HD hybrid similar to what random does.
