[Idea] LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring Netflix Rip.
#61
Hi guys i am new to this forum. I found it, because i wanted to see again the lords of the rings movies(especially extended), but i was put down about how bad the quailty of the bluray is. So if  you 44rh1n could give me the netflix version too watch for now, until either 4k blu ray release or you finish the Extended Edition Color Restoration by you and Dwalin, I would appreciate it very much.

A few things take note of:
-It has more detail than the official Blu-ray because of the lack of DNR
-BUT, it still suffers from some minor compression artifacting due to the fact that it's recorded from Netflix. I've hidden a little bit of the artifacting by layering a subtle amount of grain (it basically replaces the compressed-looking grain from the stream).
-The 60i to 24p conversion wasn't perfect, and for some reason the converted video had a little flicker on the very top and very bottom of the frame, so to compensate for that I cropped the top and bottom by 2 pixels each.

If someone has the hardware to do a true 23.976fps capture, please still do it! Otherwise, I think mine is pretty good for the meantime. (Again, feel free to PM me if you want it).

There are only 2 scenes on the BD that have this DNR. For the majority of the movie, the BD has more visible detail than the NF rip.

There still isn't a Netflix WEB-DL that's high enough bitrate to matter.

And my color restoration was finished two years ago. Feel free to DM me for it. Dwalin's, I believe, is finished as well. He used a few scenes from mine as a base for his.

Bit of a necro-bump but does anyone have either the HDTV or Netflix rip of Fellowship of the Ring? It's no longer seeded on BLUTOPIA.

I had a copy that I'm searching for but it's either on a crashed hard drive or an old hard drive I'm searching for.

Which version the OAR or “OM”? TC or EC?

I assume the old TC master in OAR?

OAR TC actually @PDB

But your hybrid preservation is great. One of my roommates can’t stand the shifting aspect ratio though haha!

Fair enough.

It was an experiment and I can totally see it not being to everyone’s tastes.
