Finally got a chance to listen to these tracks side by side and phew.
The new DTS-HD MA sounds flat. It's smoother, sure, but the 4.0 track sounds like it was actually recorded in the environments where the people are talking and not a studio like the Blu-ray.
Best of all, the 4.0 DD track has crisper high frequencies. No contest, I like the DVD audio track better. Thanks uVSthem.
Interesting that the DTS track has the artifact of being mixed near a CRT monitor and the DVD track doesn't.
Edit: Just listened to "Dancin'". Um, the 4.0 track sounds like there is a drummer behind you who is out of sync with the song. Weird.
