[In progress] Jurassic Park 35mm 6.5K scan + 14 trailers
So, I got back from holidays and I finally downloaded the file with the updated TrueHD audio.
Unfortunately, I don't get ANY audio at all when selecting this option. And my receiver is acting weird, meaning, I press the NFO button to see what is the input signal and it toggles between "Unknown" and "Dolby Audio-True HD" continuously.

Does anyone else get audio from this option?

edit: I'm downloading now the HD standard in case I have better luck with that one, but I guess the audio will be the same. (Yeah, it was the same eventually)

edit2:
The audio of the other JP scan I have is:
Quote:Audio
ID : 2
Format : DTS
Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems
Format profile : MA / Core
Mode : 16
Format settings, Endianness : Big
Codec ID : A_DTS
Duration : 2h 6mn
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : Unknown / 768 Kbps
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Bit depth : 16 bits
Compression mode : Lossless / Lossy
Title : Original 1993 Cinema DTS
Language : English
Default : Yes
Forced : No

Maybe it's because this is 44KHz that I don't hear it?
I see all the scans I have, have audio in 48KHz.

Perhaps some systems insist on blu-ray spec for audio which doesn't allow for 44.1kHz.
Had partial power out last ten days so not able to use computer over that time.
Anyway yeah I'll make a resampled to 48kHz audio track for those who need it.
anyway

on other audio news:
Since I sent it out I have since found that the scanner machine did NOT apply the necessary Dolby NR to the optical audio so the frequency balance will be off and the noise too high for the optical audio track meaning the Cinema DTS version is even more the favored one for playback. Will look into seeing if there is a way to apply the Dolby in software after the fact somehow. Not sure at the moment if is derived from same stems as the Cinema DTS (in which case maybe it's not even particularly important) or is different.)

Meanwhile, 35mm scans for The Lost World and Jurassic Park III have appeared on the Spleen.

Although some now claim the scanner used does apply Dolby NR so not fully sure yet.

Do we know for sure the "Original DTS surround mix" track of this release is the Cinema DTS ?

Also, is this the track used on the The lost world 35mm preview on the spleen ?

So, back to the audio issue:
I converted the pcm track (which showed as 2 channels originally and didn't decode correctly with Dolby Surround) to Dolby TrueHD 48KHz with clever ffmpeg gui. and it seems that did the trick!
I haven't muxed in the track yet in the mkv, but I previewed it with VLC and it seems correct now, in 5.1 surround sound with the dialogue coming only from the center and not bleeding in the other channels.
I don't suppose anything was "lost" during the conversion from 44.1KHz to 48, was there?

Assuming you use a high quality resampler, you're not going to lose anything converting to a higher sample rate.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean since I don't know about these things.
I used the software I mentioned.
