Dragonslayer DVD 5.1 audio on UHD
#1
The new UHD release of Dragonslayer only has Dolby Atom audio. Does anyone know if the 5.1 audio on the DVD is based on the Vistasonic audio from 35mm release or the 6-Track from 70mm release?

nope, my UHD has:

1.
[Image: us.png] English / MLP FBA 16-ch / 8ch / 4837kb/s / TrueHD Atmos 7.1 Remix
2.
[Image: us.png] English / AC-3 / 5.1ch / 448kb/s / Compatibilty Track (6-Track Mix)
3.
[Image: us.png] English / AC-3 / 2.0ch / 192kb/s / Original Dolby Stereo Mix
4.

The 5.1 track you have there is from the DVD which is supposed to be from the 6-track.

"Unfortunately Paramount omited the audios that were available on the DVD and WEB, and put just a remixed track with a compatibility track which is also the remix of the atmos but worse, I didn't see the point of using the crappy ac3 remix (some sound effects are changed and for worse) of the uhd as I considered it redudant (unlike Sony which uses the og audio) instead used the 5.1 on the DVD which is better, so DVD used for 5.1 (6-track 70MM), 2.0 for dolby stereo surround (35MM), both synced from start till end and padding cut (all without re-encoding) and named chapter"

Comparison 5.1 AC3-EX UHD / 5.1 AMZN Web / 5.1 DVD R1 Paramount / 5.1 DVD R2 Disney

I suspect the R1 DVD has the volume too low on R channel

Thanks for the comparison Falcon. Would you say the Amazon track is also based on the 6-track 70mm like the DVD?

For me, they sound similar (rendering and placement).
