is that the best sounding version? there's a bunch to choose from and blah-ray never covered it. iirc there was a bunch of discussion about audio tracks on the blu-ray.com thread though but it's 100+ pages long.

From what I remember and don’t quote me on this…the copy of LOA on the criterion LD is directly from a print, reel change overs and all that.

The audio is also suppose to be from a theatrical print converted from discrete to Dolby Surround. So it should be the closest sound to a theatrical (restored) print? But not 100% on that.

Another dumb request. Does anyone have the English soundtracks from the 2010 DVD?

I can't seem to find my copy and although I don't need to add them, I like to add as much original soundtracks as possible for comparison sake.

2010 is finished and uploaded. I'm very happy with the way this one came out, given it was built from a very low-grade source that is likely 15-ish years old.

The following audio tracks were synced to the project:

1. PCM 2.0 Dolby Surround (from the Widescreen LD)
2. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the DVD)
3. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the HDTV)
4. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the BD)
5. Dolby True HD 5.1 (from the BD)

Krull is cancelled. On second examination I think the Web and BD are too close to warrant a release.

I think next up will be Krull. I have both a Web-DL and HDTV recording with matching colors. It is definitely not the same colors as the BD but also doesn't seem to 100% match the DVD either.

Another thing I noticed and perhaps forgot. The US BD is missing the 2 channel mix, subs and commentaries from the DVD. Odd stuff.

Also sort of related. Does anyone have the 1st gen German BD of Fight Club? The one that has the same transfer as the DVHS? I use to have a copy for this project:

but lost not only the BD but much of the audio in a HDD crash. After working on Panic Room, I wanted to work on some other Fincher movies. A nice project of Fight Club using the old transfer was the first thing I thought of.
