Sorry if I misled you about the difficulty level of the THX logo, as it's really easy for me too. I took 3 separate frames where the logo is on a white background during the video. Then, I upscalled the frames (using SuperResolution) to 1080p. Once that was done, I overlayed the frames on top of each other and rendered that as one frame. Next, I opened that "video" (LOL, since it's only one frame I could call it "image") in MPC and saved a png screenshot. After that, I loaded the png in PSP and erased everything from the image except the THX logo. I did a VERY careful "eraser" delete for the detailed parts of the border of the logo (making sure all of the white and subsequent grays were erased) Then, I loaded the image back into my project timeline in Vegas and now it's ready to go. Interestingly, it looks better than the original.

To illustrate my point, here are three screenshots of the same frame (right now laptop not plugged into HDTV so these are at 1366x768 which is not representative of the final quality, just to show the differences); the first is a shot of the original LD footage, upscaled to 1080p using SuperResolution with a real 35mm film grain plate overlayed at ~35%. The second is the same frame, but with the THX logo from my "edited image" that I described above. The last, is the same frame sourced from BD for the HD reconstruction, that hasn't be re-framed correctly yet (all of the footage will be cropped and reframed to represent the original footage) but it does have the THX logo image that I made.

Sh*t, looking at that last one, I just realized that there is still a tid-bit of the gray left around the border of the logo, that I need to get rid of Smile

The one thing I noticed while doing the reconstruction, is the incredibly different color-timings between the LD and BD footage. Some of it looks better, but most of it still looks better on the lower rez LD footage because it looks more natural...

Ok, so it took me about 15 minutes to correct that logo and here is a screenshot of just the last image from my last post, but with the fixed logo. IMHO it looks a lot better nowWink

Only problem is it looks like a low res upscale for such a nice looking video. Why not use a cleaner clearer version.

Your welcome, it's the least i could do for taking on a project like this. It's not a perfect match but close enough. I took if from the THX Broadway classic HD video then cut it out and removed the copyright logo. That and changed the color, gave it more of a blue.

It not a perfect match but it's close enough. Here's the screenshot with the THX logo you provided:
