Where does the HD-DVD picture fall in all of this?

I agree as well. Kinda surprised that someone was reading my post about SotS in the color correction tool thread over on OT and decided to try something similar here. Those are nice results too, except in that second picture from top, where her hair is a little blue . Not sure if this is a matter of your regrade of if it's in original source where that was intended look. The rest of the sample pictures appear to me to be a nice balance with fleshtones looking the way they are supposed to.

Yeah, I did see those Servo. The two from towards the end of the films are ok (ie the helicopter over Cyberdyne and the T-1000 at the steel mill) since they have a lot more (dark royal) blue and are in keeping with the theme of my regrade.

The one of the boys fighting with the guns pretty much matches mine with the exception of the brightness of the one boy's white shirt. That is caused by me boast the brightness relative to the 35mm samples to be more in line with the BD. In other words, trying to get colors similar to a 35mm (hopefully) but the details of the BD.

The big difference are the 35mm LPP pics of the canal chase. Its a big question mark for me. Here are the examples:

Now those don't look a lot like my regrade. In fact they look a lot like the BD's color. Specially more orange and less blue. That's a problem for my regrade except I also found this from a LPP

Which is more in keeping with my regrade but still doesn't match perfectly. Notice the totally different skin tones and the blues and purples. It contradicts the previous frames.

I took those original pics and color corrected them till the sprockets on the sides changed from yellow to clear/white and got this:

Which is closer to my regrade but not perfect. Realistically with my LUT its about half way between the two examples, which I'm happy with. I might add a little saturation to the day time scenes but I'm not sure.

The HD-DVD and all the BDs are pretty much the same scan and same colors. I'm using the latest US BD which again is the same master but more grain and less DNR. So, its the best source available, that I know of.

The current master is overbright with clipped whites that's why you will not be able to match the 35mm look.

Cameron did this on his past masters because it looked good on old tube TVs.
