Aliens (Full Feature, Derann Super 8mm)

Just idea for regrade to Derann Super8:

Here is a screen capture of the film: 

Here is a capture from my computer of the DVD of the same scene.

The DVD is very white ... I'm sure Cameron prefers the film look.

Probably with white balance, but these colors look best to me, old warm classic colors...

Don't you know we have had the full 35mm scan for awhile now? It's scratched and all, but the colors are still there and pretty much align with what I see on your 8mm print. I can think of two regrade projects using the 35mm scan colors as basis, one from here, which is brighter and for the 3 cuts, another from the Spleen, which is darker and keeps the black crush and is special edition only.

I didn't mean that this white balanced screen capture is accurate to original colors... just warmer colors. [Alternative Look]


BTW
The print shown in this video is an original 6-track magnetic 70mm print.
The colours are very similar to the super 8 trailer release from Derann film services.
