That wasn’t a Vdub capture but I do recall Vdub giving me the same effect. Part of the reason I was using programs like PowerDirector and Roxio was it did not give that effect. I tried another program too that I can’t remember the name off and it didn’t give that effect but it did reencode the video which I also try to avoid.
So basically in regards to stuff like this I try to avoid free programs as much as possible. In the past year the only movie I was able to capture on a few occasions without any glitches was that Phantom of the Opera tape. My two best captures of that were a Hauppauge WinTV device from 2008 and a combo of 2016 Dazzle and 2008 VIDBOX. Both I captured through Roxio Creator NXT. The WinTV capture I’ve watched straight through and didn’t notice any glitches. The Dazzle/VIDBOX capture I haven’t watched straight through but what I have seen of it it looked fine. So its very confusing. It could a number of things. The devices, the TBC, the computer, all the above. Who knows. I’ll try a DV capture through Roxio tonight and see how that goes. Also someone suggested I have other programs/browsers closed when doing this I do that. I push record and basically do nothing else until the tape is over.
Slightly off topic but it is good to hear from you again Jerry!
