[Released] Minority Report (2002) - Cinema DTS-ES to Paramount UHD
#1
Synced 6.1 Cinema DTS-ES to the UHD. I don't think the discrete channel adds any value, and there's some clipping the UHD doesn't have, but perhaps someone will be interested regardless.

Available in two formats:
- DTS-HD MA 6.1, 23.976 FPS, 48 kHz, 16 bit, slots in with the UHD
- FLACs, 24 FPS, 44.1 kHz, 24 bit - the purist option, but needs further adjustment (see below)

The FLAC is intended mainly for people interested in doing further projects with the track. It has the levels untouched, they need to be adjusted as follows: +3 dB LFE, -3 dB surounds. Each channel is in an individual file.

How did you extract the matrixed rear channel? In my limited research I didn't find a good way to do it, so I've always left it as 5.1 and let the audio processor take care of things.

The foobar plugin did it by itself. I'd actually wanted to disable that but didn't see any settings to.

Here's mediainfo for the AUD:

Would leaving it 5.1 and letting the audio processor do the decoding be the more purist way to go?

Yeah, but I wasn't able to find a setting on the foobar decoder to disable that. stwd4nder2 said he'd look into it in free time, maybe an older version or something. I still have the Reaper project files, can always re-export as 5.1.

So I tried using the install of foobar I've been using for awhile (v1.6.8 APTX-100 v0.1.10) and a new install (v2.25.3 x64 APTX-100 v0.3.10) and confirmed that the old version extracted 6 channels and the new version extracted 7 channels. I didn't see any settings to change this. I couldn't find a changelog or anything for the APT-X plugin, so idk when this changed, or any of the technical details on how it's doing it.

Not sure what to make of this yet, curious what other members who have worked with Cinema DTS tracks in the past have to say.

Is this definitely Cinema DTS-ES 5.1 Matrix and not DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 ?

I don't think the format is capable of discrete 6.1. It's not ever discrete 5.1, the LFE is encoded in the rear surrounds.
