Frankenstein (1931) Audio Preservation
I think it’s best to just leave Jerry to the audio. He’s put enough into all this as is and with all he’s been through this past year I think what he’s doing is enough. The ‘video’ aspects will just have to be a separate individual project though frankly seeing this audio restored I find more enticing than fixing the video issues anyways.

Decided to make a new comparison video comparing the BD audio to the LD audio. Mostly a video to compare quality but I did use annotations to point out specific things about the content in the mixes in certain scenes. Anyways check it out if you are interested. Hopefully we'll get new updates on this project soon.

A tad off topic but if anyone here from the LA area happens to go to this could you report back here anything significant about the prints they showed??

Hey guys. This isn’t really anything related to the project but wanted to get your guys opinions on this. What do you think the chances are that better sound elements for this film were destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire???

Strong. The BD sounds just like the original audio digitally processed and limited to the hilt with noise reduction.

Well Uni was honest that it was their video vault-it was the separate Universal music company that lied and covered up that the music vault was next door and destroyed.

So what would have been lost was older video master materials presumably for things like DVDs, the late Japanese LDs etc with possible better audio. I don't know what happened to the sound discs that a fan got the studio to take which was what led to the censored lines being restored finally for the DVD initial release.

He said he was but that was months ago. Someone else offered to do it but I need LilBrutto to see if he can resend the files.

Not my video but someone on originaltrilogy.com shared this. It has some of the same examples I posted.
