I have the Japanese LD of Gremlins 2, but it's the home video version (the 4th wall breaking scene where the Gremlins interrupt the film is different). Looks like this LD is the theatrical version : https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/02968/118...-New-Batch
That's the one I grabbed

Not to toot my own horn...but skip to an hour in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIQ1SWktAGM The LD is pretty easy to find and can go for super cheap. And it remains one of the best discs I've ever seen. It's a barebones WB release without a gatefold. Looking online at copies you'll want the one with the art across the entire cover and the small WB widescreen logo in the bottom corner. And it remains the only way to hear the original mono which is amazingly better than the 5.1. I'm dying to establish a capture method but every time I start saving to build an editing PC I find I can never save enough and then have to dip into that for regular expenses. Of course once I finally do so...I kinda have a backlog of titles to do now since I'm nearing 800...

I will have to track down a copy so I can post them both here. Thought I'd pick this up since the colours are radically different to the more recent BD releases. I got the 40th Anniversary DVD as mentioned in the Blah-ray blog. However I think the information is wrong. The "apron slap" is severely muted even in on this version. I think you're right in saying the 2002 DVD may contain a closer version to the original mix. Anyone have more info about the differences in mixes? Also why is the track on the 40th 5.0 channels? Would be cool to get a laserdisc capture. Does anyone have it?

The only LD you'll find that's stereo is analog everything else for that film has digital dolby surround.

I ordered the UK BD from Indicator of Christine because it says it has the original stereo track included. Is anyone interested in that? I am supposed to receive that in a few more days. I ripped the UHD disc and am gonna sync the original audio to it.

I’d be interested in Christine!
