That would definitely be nice! I started roughing out Romancing today and got the first 25 mins together. It's a pain though because it wasn't just the BD missing stuff, so it's going to be a slow one as I go back and fix the patches.
In the meantime I started syncing First Blood to the UHD, hopefully shouldn't take too long!

I got the German Rambo trilogy BD set with 2.0 original mixes included...which sound very screechy at times and not all that great. I only have the lbx LD of First Blood which sounds much better even if the mix itself isn't that impressive.

First Blood is almost done. I've finished the first hour now, its mostly been a breeze.
I also went back and finished the first 20 mins of Romancing the Stone. Now that's a real challenge. Normally I'd just patch missing frames with the reference track, but the music is so far gone on the BD that it would be jarring regardless of how I tweaked it. So I am having to pull every trick in the book to make it work, but so far the results are pretty much seamless. I probably would have just given up by now if there wasn't such a massive leap in quality between the two tracks haha. It's really incredible how badly they screwed the BD up.

Mouth drops open..uh absolutely yes. How in the world did they get that?
I always have heard the BH 35mm print downs were really great and IB tech with perhaps even better color because of dye transfer but at the cost of slight cropping and mostly mono prints.
Four track mag oh my-I've wanted to hear mag audio on film for years. I too read about the potential 5.1 remix job and bought both CLV and CAV lbx LDs to check and the matrix audio sounds roughly the same as the BD track. The LD transfer is surprisingly very close to the BD just brighter but the BD does tend to have a tendency slightly towards cold blues.

I don’t suppose anyone has the Japanese LD of Ransom with the DTS track and is able to capture it?

I have the early 90s mono version ENTER THE DRAGON coming in the mail. It is going to be my first attempt at capturing audio (let alone bit-perfect audio).
Of course I ordered it and then saw that Criterion is putting it out with the mono track. Ohhhhh well.

Good luck! Criterion could very well noise reduce the track, so may be worth the preservation.
