They even advertised it being the remastered versions with 16:9 intros like it was a great thing

I preserve movies as they first appeared in Italy.

Apart the obvious low-quality TV version, the new remastered version used in the BD is not bad at all! Sure, in the first two seasons something are lost on both top and bottom (but earned on both sides), but seasons three and four seeems to have no problems, while of course newer seasons are native 16:9. Color grading, also, is good enough; I still prefer the old one, but the new is not... "wrong", just different - and maybe right, but, you know... every new version has the "right colors, framing, audio" etc. so...

I hate the idea of losing information from top and bottom, I didn't know we gained from the sides though

Evit, take a look at the link I posted before - here you are it: http://i.imgur.com/gCqADxk.png
I hate too, losing any part of the image; the best choice will be to get the 35mm version (impossible IMHO) or make an AAP-AR version (very very VERY hard but possible) using both the DVD and BD... EDIT: Color grading early test clip: part 1 | part2 (both needed) links expires at the end of March, 2017

BTW, there is one X-Files extra, never included in the series, no fan should be without ...
ReBoot S2E09 Trust No One (Dinothunderblack) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_HiDuDzFGo&t=4m7s ... set to start when Guardian Bob meets 2 C.G.I. agents ...

LOL! The Simpsons! X-Files does get around. Never saw that one, but I do remember once seeing a clip of Homer getting zapped & zapped again as he was hooked up to wires (must've been from that same episode). Just remember ... Trust No One ...

Indeed, The Simpsons episode with Mulder and Skully, albeit not one the best, it's a must for any X-files lovers.
I should find A FREE WEEK to watch ALL THE EPISODES (and the two movies) in a row... My car plate says "TRUSTNO1", so... - at the end, I just trust my lovely cats... OK, back to topic now!
