Well because my VHS capturing is causing me further delays (again) I’ll try to get around to capturing the audio from the Image DVD sometime this week hopefully.

Well yes. Sorry I’ve been in capture mode lately so that I just decided to use that term. XD

Just out of curiosity how does the French LD cap look? I'm curious about the theatrical colour timing.

It looks Insanely good and more natural than the open matte rip, but very close regarding the color timing.

Stopped the new UAR encoding to take a look at the result; so far, it's pretty good; some wobbling frames remain, but they are in the source, so I can define the wobble as a glitch...
"You call this a glitch?!"
About French laserdisc: color grading is quite different from Sony BD (and TV fullscreen), and Criterion DVD (and LD, and old MGM editions); even if in some shots it is similar to Sony BD, and others to remastered BD, it has its own character; so, I've decided to give it a try, and regrade UAR using it as color reference. Top French LD, middle UAR regraded, bottom Sony BD: Should I go on, and regrade the UAR? Meanwhile, let me continue the encoding - two or three more days left!

Black segments will remain in the corners?

Could you fill the corners with the Criterion? Not taking into account color differences.
