Thank you for the screenshots. I really hope these are good releases. The BD looks terrible for these films. The only decent HD release was the HDTV European release, and even that doesn't look great. If they turn out looking anything like the newly released Indiana Jones remasters, I'll be happy with that.

I wish I had more faith in this set, but Paramount's recent 4K remasters of films from this era - Trading Places, Airplane!, Coming To America - have all had dreadful motion artefacts, revisionist VFX "fixes", revisionist grading and their optical shots destroyed with DNR. Judging by these comparison shots, the Trek remasters have suffered the same fate:

Aren't the current streaming masters based off of the transfers done for the 2009-2010 blu-ray's of the Star Trek Movies, the ones with the crazy DNR?

They've since been updated with the new 4K masters, including some of the later TNG films as well.

I have a question, if someone knows the answer.
Does the audio, which is said is the same since the 2009 blurays, have updated sound FX comparing to the original theatrical presentation? I mean like "The Terminator"?

well, we can always sync the 5.1/2.0 Dolby Surround  audio from the R1 DVD's ( the ones released between 1998-2003)

Not really, but boy they do sound wonky. Paramount isn't known for changing Dolby Strereo Mixes for 5.1/7.1 that much, but some sound bad (Top Gun Atmos) and others sound good (Hunt For Red October, well any of the Jack Ryan films from the 90's).

PS The og R1 Star Trek movies DVD must had audio masters that from a caned AC-3 LD that came from Dolby 70mm masters, Paramount LDs are sync up so if you want the 35mm mix form the WS LD go head and sync up the UHD/Remasted Blurays.
