This track blows the UHD audio out of the water. It's a lot closer to the LD ac-3, but this is still more dynamic plus the overhead of the extra bitrate makes this a clear winner.

btw there is a minor sync issue at the very end of the movie at 1h44m2.414s. An additional 2 frame delay is required to sync it again.

Thank you so much! Excellent work! I listened to the AC3 Laserdisc and the sound wasn't as good as the DVD. I haven't tried the UHD Blu-ray yet, but the DTS Cinema is incredibly dynamic! Just like I heard it in the theater.

It's probably just how it is. Jurassic Park's LFE on the Cinema DTS discs. Even the re-release where they updated it to the modern format (the first few releases used an older format) still has the same much lower LFE. I mean maybe they encoded it theatrically at the wrong level but you'd think they'd have realized and fixed it then for the update but who knows. Home releases are all over the place. All seemingly a little to way too boosted for LFE. Studios seem remarkably sloppy about things. You can even find clipping on plenty of Cinema DTS discs. Heck the trailers section on Cinema DTS for Jurassic Park has crazy loud LFE that often clips badly. It's kinda nuts. You'd think if anyone would take care it would be studios.

Also everyone should keep in mind that if you extract and create the LFE manually yourself rather than let the plugin for Foobar do it for you, which is something that is probably best, to do it yourself, you do NOT ad +6dB to the LFE. You actually do a -3dB for pre-1999 discs and just leave as is for 1999+ discs. Surrounds do get -3dB.

Personally I don't resample to 48kHz or change the audio to 23.976 as this stuff can add artifacts and aliasing. If I mix it in to a commercial disc's video I just change the disc's metadata for playback from 23.976 to 24 fps (if need be, a very few home releases are already at 24fps). So nothing gets touched not the audio, not the video.

I'd rather have something that can be easily muxed to a disc while preserving the other tracks. I always archive the raw files in case I ever want to go back and do them at 24 fps.

Are the aud/aue to uhd transfers amplified? I really found the transfers to have incredible sound quality!

Speed sounds way way better than the blu/uhd. All the lfe which was randomly spliced out for some reason is restored with the cinema DTS. MI2 sounds punchier too. Thanks for the syncs stwd4nder2!

If I were you, I'd avoid the original DTS cinema soundtrack. The center channel is really weak; the problem has been fixed. I prefer dts laserdisc track.

Well, compared to the Atmos mix, the Center channel is prioritized in other TITANIC home video mixes (as it should be).
In some passages, the music cues and the objects literally drown the dialogue, whether on both the original 1999 DVD, the DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix, as well the old and active DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete mix (from the Special Collector's Edition DVD set), the dialogue never gets drowned by the music or FX cues.
As far as theatrical mixes goes, the dialogue is meant to be mixed that way.
It's then the theaters who adjust the sound levels according to the specifications they receive from studios.

I haven't heard the LD DTS or Cinema DTS (yet), but I DO remember the theatrical mix of Titanic being one of the most immersive cinema mixes I heard, after JP : The Lost World, back in 1997-1998.
The "Flying Scene" and the sinking scenes, in particular, literally "flooded" the theater with effects, score cues and the final BOOM, when the ship goes down.
It's something that neither the original 1999 DD 5.1, the DTS-HD MA 5.1, the DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete or the Atmos mix just couldn't replicate, even at loud volume. 
The same feel of clarity and immersion, I experienced back in 1997-1998, just wasn't there (and I carefully A-B tested all 4 of them, channel by channel).

Cinema DTS CDs were mixed specifically far-field and LOUDER than some home video releases. And 4K UHD SHOULD have been the DEFINITIVE collector's format, and provide also OG untouched theatrical mixes as well, other than a boost in video quality.
Shame on some studios for charging a lot on steelbooks, while providing a sub-par release.
