Lucas, Cameron and Fincher hand in hand.

The unholy trinity of the digitally impaired. The original cancer and its two main metastasis.

Those people are akin to lemmings as far as I'm concerned. The worst is when they make laughable and misinformation filled "video essays" like that watchingaerial guy did.

CiNEPHiLES has changed the framerate to 24fps to go with his untouched version of the theatrical dts, but if you get the actual UHD at 23.976fps, you can add a +24 frame delay, so 1001ms, to match PDB's project tracks to the UHD.

imo 23.976 is kinda a dinosaur and needs to fade away

And that doesn’t make any sense. When seeing the kind of life she lives, I don’t expect Marla to have the perfect skin of a model from the pages of Vogue Magazine. In the real original movie, her looks fit the character better.

This site and especially this thread is an eye (mind?) opener, to say the least. It's hard to believe I've never found it before.

I've been tinkering with basic muxing of audio and video, but nothing like this - although I expect I'd need much better software and hardware to do so.

Where are the Cinema DTS tracks taken from? Are they available anywhere now?

They’re taken from the dts CD-Roms used in theaters at the time. Stick around, get involved in the conversations for a while, and treasures will come to you.

I think I’m just going to watch my upscale. After all this is why I did that project in the first place.

Yeah, nowadays they’re so afraid of being called out on black crush by online reviewers that there's no contrast anymore. Who cares if we can see irrelevant stuff on the stove in the background? We're not looking there anyway. Now the whole movie is too bright, too polished and Marla is a fashion model. WTF! "Fight Club" never was about beauty. It was always about chaos and anarchy. The mood is completely changed. "I felt like destroying something beautiful", says Norton’s narrator character.
EDIT: for real, for real, it’s not that bright as Shane Lee's screen caps would have you believed. It’s still a dark film.
