Have anybody an answer to the questions I asked in the post #20? https://fanrestore.com/thread-1169-post-...l#pid23469
EDIT: about 2), the alternate beginning takes more than 3m, leaving just more than 7m; that's the difference between the SE and TC, so mystery should be solved.
Compared BD and HDTV; the latter is a good version, often with no (or minimal) loss at the sides, while, of course, a lot more top and bottom. A project using its video and DTS laserdisc (DTS Cinema, too?) audio could be interesting.
EDIT: Also, adding the 2.35:1 cut scenes to 1.78:1 open matte version to make a variable aspect ratio special edition is a cool idea!

I remember putting an inter library loan for the Alien Legacy DVD set a few years ago, and to my surprise all the discs in the set were full screen as opposed to the correct widescreen singles I later got sent. IIRC, Alien & Alien 3 just had letterboxed credits then P&S for the rest, while Alien: Resurrection was like the VHS/Divix master pictured here and Aliens had unmasked FX shots but oddly enough, cropped talking and interior shots. Wish I remembered which library it came from, but I might be able to jog my memory further if I can find the open matte Fox logos from Aliens and Resurrection in my collection.

I’ve been after that fullscreen Legacy DVD set for years but have never seen a set in the wild!

Discovered that there was at least a DVB recording of Alien: Resurrection in full screen; better than VHS quality (apart the logo, of course), and they are BOTH open matte, and NOT pan&scan!
Now, it will be great to get it... and, this *may* means that the full screen DVD used indeed the same master.

Hi, comparing the dirt, the HDTV seems to be the same ENR master the Laserdisc and first DVD release were made from. Cheers!
I would like to know which HDTV version has the highest bitrate.
