[Released] The Thing (1982) [Fundamental Collection™ #005]
#11
The Thing (1982) is another movie, used in the 1984 horror documentary Terror in the Aisles, preserved on Universal's Halloween II Blu-Ray.

The color timing there is interesting, bit more magenta, I would say:

I wouldn't take excerpts from films in documentaries as gospel to the original look. They just look like bad transfers here.

Would the audio from the Shout Blu-ray need any syncing to add in on this release?

The Thing is a big deal for Arrow. They're very aware that Shout! released this not a year ago and they're aware of people's response to the Shout! release. I can't see them botching it.

It's a long shot but I'm hoping they get hold of Rob Bottin's test footage.

When it would be released? I bet the snow will be any color but white, so I'm ready to do another version myself... Happy

Arrow don't botch, scream has the copyright on it

I saw the 4k remaster at the Glasgow Film Festival earlier in the year and it looked incredible. The snow was definitely white Smile

This version of The Thing (v2 specifically) is EASILY the best-looking release of the film yet.

I'm excited to see the Arrow release, but I'm in Region 1, so I'll have to find it elsewhere.
