YAO subtitles hack: this kind of subtitle overlay black bars on selected shots; it was tested on MPV and SMPlayer and may work even on hardware Blu-ray players; to have both black bars and another subtitle, you should use SMPlayer with YAO as first subs track, and the selected language as second subs track

Note: the main differences between this version and the previous one are the following:

slight improved quality of 2.40:1 shots
slight lower quality of 1.78:1 IMAX and open matte shots, due to the exclusive use of Russian and Korean open matte sources combined together; but this avoid the difference between them and the overlaid BD used in the previous version, which lead to top and bottom "slices" with different quality, colors, brightness; now the IMAX and open matte shots are perfect, and completely subtitles and logo free
YAO black bars are still available, but now only selected players would display them properly (namely, MPV and SMPlayer)
a lot more audio and subs tracks available

Thanks to maksnew for the Russian open matte source, and needed audio/subs tracks.

x264 is the encoder, which is H264 compliant; it is recognized by many as the best H264 (AVC) encoder available.

I watched the first 20 minutes of this last night and its absolutely stunning. I went to my local IMAX theatre to see Covenant when it came out and it was disappointing that they never showed any of the IMAX shots and it was a constant 2.35 : 1 (I never pay the extra for IMAX unless all or some of the movie has been shot using IMAX cameras). This edit clearly has taken spoRv alot of effort and time because from what ive seen on it so far looks great and transitions are seamless. I cant wait to watch the full movie of this cut which I shall be doing sometime this week and i'll report back here with a small review. I'll finally be able to get as close as i can get to the IMAX experience I paid for.

I second every bit of that. Thanks for all the work that went into this. It really is amazing what a difference it makes.
