Well, it seems the Arrow still retain the blue on snow scenes... (top Arrow, bottom FC V2):

(too lazy to make other comparison; probably scenes shot inside have better colors)

Albeit I must admit FC is a little bit too magenta (that was present on the source used as color reference), I prefer this color grading. Maybe a V3, using Arrow BD as source, and with magenta toned down, could be a nice upgrade.

Opinions?

You never know. The trailer I posted frame from earlier show the snow as white

but that could of been before color timing (or the pic is too blown out). I like the idea of a v3 with white snow, spoRv.

I'll reserve judgement until I've seen the Arrow disc in motion, those pics certainly have more blue than I remember from the DCP I saw earlier this year though.

Everybody loves the white snow, I suppose, except studios which released "The Thing" on Blu-ray! :-)

I'm fine with the blue. Blue timing has been used for cold and night scenes since the dawn of color film. Having said that I think the white snow works better for The Thing. It's more de-saturated and bleak. Works better for the atmosphere I think.

I kinda dig the first picture with the blue in the jacket, I think it should all be white but this is Dean we are dealing with here

The same who blessed the THX DVD version of Halloween, and then later changed his mind? Wink

That's weird on the arrow, the last image look like it's a composite, on your version, it looks like they are actually there.
