I am intrigued. how can someone get a copy of the master in 2k? It´s the first time i read something like that. I mean, i know there are some DCPrips out there of Avatar and a couple of movies. But whats the original format of this "2k master"? its digital or analog?

The source 2k master interpositive (EE added) is taken from US Scream Factory blu-ray which has since been superceded by the UK Arrow 4k master taken from the original negative (Universal supplied) and a further German Turbine release which corrected both a few picture errors (supposed gamma errors at both beginning, which is questionable by a large majority, and at the end, accepted by most) and a couple of sync errors with the sound (although someone has mentioned they introduced another audio error during the scene at the Norwegian camp when the helicopter is landing, can't remember if it's reverb or something else).

might be worth nothing that the audio bit rate on the German edition (which I have sitting here) is nearly half of the bitrate compared to the the Arrow version.
German release

Shame the Arrow supposedly has some sync errors, maybe one of the expert syncers could take a look and match it to the turbine and avoid the error they introduced.

Shout supposedly has same sync errors as Arrow, assume they were always present since original theatrical release. Only Turbine finally fixed them but as said someone on the blu forum suggests they intoduced another error separate to these.
From the Turbine press release:
• English DTS-HD Master Audio in 5.1, 2.0 & 4.1 (Original Mix)
All audio tracks worldwide had slight sync issues before. These were fixed.
Just found the post on blu forum, the reverb is supposedly on the Turbine 4.1 track:
"I just spent an arm and a leg on the Turbine release to find out that the 4.1 track is slightly faulty. A couple of shots during the scene when they take off to the Norwegian base have a reverb-like echo effect with the helicopter taking off. It's during the shot where they first take off and the POV shot from inside the helicopter on their way to the base (right before and at the chapter 4 mark) that isn't present on the SF or Arrow releases on the 4.1 track. I can't tell if it's present on the 2.0 or 5.1 track on the Turbine but it doesn't sound like it. I'm not too happy to be honest. I'm so tired of buying and rebuying and rebuying this film on blu ray due to technical errors. Is there any chance for a replacement program?
Outside of this issue it's an outstanding release"

It would be nice if Turbine had provided details as to what the sync issues were. One sympathizes with the poster on Blu-ray.com. I like the film but certainly don't want to buy it yet again.

I think it was around the time of the announcement in posts on a German forum by a Turbine rep, maybe movieside.de, but for the life of me can't remember exactly where.
Closest thing I can find is on blu forum where the following is mentioned about been included in a conversation about a turbine podcast, they found the sync issues in the English tracks when creating the rebuilt German mixes nd so fixed them:
"- The audio asynchronities in English audio were discovered, as they were working on a proper 5.1 German mix and were mixing it with the M&E. There were some slight sync issues (like, one frame off) - so they fixed them in all the three tracks"
But again sure it was discussed more thoroughly in forum posts.
