*It seems* that only the UK DVD has bigger framing - US DVD and BD should have the same; so, if you see that your discs have the same frame size, just check your BD against the UK DVD.

OK I'm confused, just got the Thing on MS, is this the same one released or the old one? You need to add release dates so we can tell.

PREDATOR 2 on DVD looks good, I will hunt for the UK DVD. I suppose french is the same.

Well, there are two versions, the latest is the V2 (clearly labeled in the thread title); hope you got this one, even if the previous one was very good, the newer one is obviously a tad better.

P2: got it on Spanish DVD, but it's only a DVD-5 so the quality is not that great; clearly the UK DVD is better, don't know if the French one is the same - if it's not on DVD-5, probably... I think the project could be done, if the BD frame has always the same frame cropping and relative position.

Thanks to OperatorIV, we have now an HDTV open matte version of the extended framed Predator 2 - like UK DVD SE, but with a bit more image details on sides... take a look of how much the BD is cropped (disregard quality for now, I made it on paint in one minute): https://diff.pics/rL7LEfNMGyYv/1
