Hmm maybe it didn't go through properly. This is going back to last week or so. I'll repost later this evening

Also keep in mind the best older master so far is reportedly the DTS LD as according to Disclord from the LDDb forums they used a non-DVNRd master for that release and mistakenly used the smeary ac3 disc THX master for the DVD.
I only have the ac3 LD but the audio is wonderful.

Oh but the DVD doesn't count because it's available from a 16/9 master in all other countries but the USA.

I got a copy of the R6 DVD from China (Excel media so it's legit). maxed out bitrate (I think) and with Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS-ES 6.1 (Matrixed) audio as well. Plus 16x9 video. Not sure if that has any pro's that can be sued for future editions?

I suppose the DTS-ES could be used as an alternative mix.
Right now, the best mix is the DTS 5.1 from the Dtheatre.

If it's available, I suggest that it should be compared to the Dtheatre mix.
If there are differences, it could and should be included.

There's also the LD DTS (which may or may not be identical to the DTheater), apparently the AC3 track on the LD is no slouch either.

Again, those tracks should be compared to the AC3 and DTS on the Dtheatre.
AC3 on LD is 384kbps. On the Dtheatre it's 576kbps DTS on LD is 44khz and 1411kbps. On the Dtheatre it's 48khz and 1536kbps. On the Dtheatre, it was the same mix with the DD and DTS, so while I'm not shooting down other soundtracks down right, I think, since True Lies is a long film, that duplicate soundtracks should not be included. |
