Yes. In that case, you have to re-encode. But that cap was 99.95% soft.

TSmuxer can remove pulldown flags. I think DGIndex can too.

OK, some extraction errors after, got HP6 in HD, finally! It's MPEG-2 1080i 29.97fps, in 13 parts.

I thought to pass each with DGIndex, then load in avisynth with MPEG2SOURCE, then Tfm/Tdecimate each before joining; I think it's the best way. I even thought to throw them all to DGIndex to get just one d2v file... opinions?

Harry Potter saga films are quite lenghty - more than two hours, and open matte would require higher bitrate than OAR versions; I briefly tested (read: must be verified with full movie) 15mbps encoding after enhancing and grain plate, and, albeit it retains most details (and much better than original untouched MPEG-2), it loses almost all grain; the latter returns at around 20mbps, which is expected; at 40mbps (the BD bitrate limit) only very tiny details are lost/modified.

So, maybe it's time to release my first BD-50 project! Thinking also about V2 "remastered" version could benefit of this opportunity. Undecided if release HP saga on both BD-25 and BD-50, though. IIRC there is not the layer change problem found on DVD-9, right?

Also, time to finally burn actual BDs, and print disc label and covers; thought to do a "barebone" (just blu-ray) for archival purpose, and store in a safe place, and the fancy, everyday version, with printed label and covers.

OK guys, just discovered this crazy thing.

The initial french DVD of Seven is unique. Just found it for one buck. It sports an anamorphic transfer of what appears to be an internegative.

It's a little hot, but totally different from the non-anamorphic release from New Line, and from all other subsequent releases which were remastered by David Fincher. Looks like the guy doing the round up found here http://notonbluray.com/blog/the-case-of-se7en/ missed this one.

This ain't the laserdisc master, nor any of the anamorphic masters made after. This is a unique master.

Compare to this. The french transfer looks like it hasn't have any silver retention to me. What do you guys think?
