Yes, actually, the Criterion master was windowboxed. The DVDs from New Line show more on the sides, but there is a white line running on the left, which is cut by the Criterion LD and this DVD so it doesn't appear.

That's the best 2 bucks I ever spent on home media LOL, I wonder if we could Panup the three versions, to get a decent 720p version.

However I don't have the NTSC version, only the UK one and this one, both in Pal format.

I think this should warrant a preservation with all the soundtracks included. This initial look is lost forever now.

I think it would be better to eventually color regrade a BD version using this as color reference, instead on PaNup them.

OK did a little zoom in, there's definetely more detail on the anamorphic Benelux DVD. Zoomed twice At equal size, the 4/3 disc is pixelated whereas the Benelux one is OK. So I confirm we have here a unique port of a Criterion LD in anamorphic DVD.
