It looks pretty good, it has the vertical lines but a teensy bit of horizontal blur removes it.

Thanks for the heads up Zoidberg. Sounds like the same master I have. What program did you use to put in the horizontal blur?

I just used the blur function in avisynth set to only blur horizontally:

Code:
Blur(0.7,0)

Thanks Zoid, I had tried blurring it previously but I'll try again.

Ok I think I found a fix for this project. Need to sync a 5.1 soundtrack and the ld’s PCM to finish it.

I got another HDTV copy and the Amazon Web DL and sadly both have the vertical lines. It’s strange that the 720p copies don’t have it and neither does the NTSC DVD. Beside the lines and the fact the HDTV copies have that normal red push, they all seem to be the same master. Perhaps the lower resolution of the 720ps blend out the lines.

Anyway I think I have it mostly fixed. Color-wise I pulled the HDTV version close to the LD to eliminate the red push and then went a little further correcting it to some film examples I had:

Finally ripped the widescreen LD to get the PCM and found the colors more to my liking then the HDTV, NTSC DVD or ITunes. It's a very green-blue-yellow mix without the horrible red of the HDTV. So I think I'm going to use that as my color guide in the regrade:

Unlike other projects where I color matched shot-by-shot, I separated this movie into 36 individual areas and regraded those areas to the widescreen LD. Here are the results:

I've never seen or previously heard of this movie. It looks interesting. Will definitely use your project as an excuse to check it out. Thanks. Smile
