I like the look of the blu ray, it has that drenched in tobacco smoke look you'd get from walking in a mall in the 90's.

Ok here are some quick 'n dirty tests with some random images. The first regrade group is the THX non-anamorphic DVD which is the same master as the US THX LD and the second group is from waterslides' French LD cap. I also created pics with the luma copied from the BD but the colors from the original sources. The overall is the DVD is bluer and the LD is greener then the BD.

That's a very good job you did there PDB! It's impressive to see how the colors from that LD are matching the BD so well Smile Seems to be the perfect combination.

I don't like BD colors, and I like both the DVD and LD ones... what if you use BD luma, and merged DVD+LD chroma?
"In medio stat virtus" Wink I've done a dirt'n'quick test, and it seems a very good compromise indeed.

I'm unsure of the Theatrical Timing of DH2, as Ive never seen it projected in 35mm.
But out of the stills presented I have to go with the French LD as my preference.

The French LD is most probably sourced on a release print as it features all the cue marks and more dust at the end/beginning of the reels.

I really like the Regrade to THX DVD and luma from the BD as well, and would probably have chosen that version to watch. But it does look like it has been corrected for 90's Home Video. Looks very like the Warner Home Video releases of that era.
