I've tested the other LDs, here's a comparison.

So is there a way using the new 4K, to reproduce the Japan LD framing?

Anyone ever noticed an open matte dvd ? It seems none is open matte but I couldn't test them all.

In the examples above, the Jap LD 2.35 is actually 1.78.
The UK LD however is exactly 2.0. It shows more of the frame on left and right than any other transfer in existence. So the UK LD is the one we want which has the 70mm ratio it seems https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/18941/EE-1092/Predator-2 It's also said it's wider in the link above. Thanks given by: dvdmike
