Watched this last night. Fantastic work Evit, especially given the limitations of the source material. Really liked the colour & brightness (seemed just about right) and you've done a wonderful job minimising the imperfections of the transfer.
Will be interesting to see how the new 4K Disc compares - should obviously improve things detail-wise but I hope they follow your lead in terms of colour timing..

Thanks a lot Alex. I'm also very curious to see how this 4k new scan will look! Hopefully it won't have any blu scratches like the Shout Factory release!

It's curious that UHD to BR conversion in the new EFNY release by StudioCanal is as bright as the Shout version. They must have not found the perfect settings when converting. I imagine that the map room won't be much different from the Shout release then (only more cropped and with no blue).

In fact, StudioCanal Blu-Ray white levels eat away more details than the Shout version did, at least judging from this frame.

I'm really glad this project exists. I personally liked the MGM Blu-ray because of it's grain retention, but I do agree that it is quite dark in places. I didn't even know that it's aspect ratio was zoomed in either - that's a bit of a problem. Thanks for doing this!
